Ah. The holidays. A time of family togetherness, travel, eating, and the inevitable fight with my husband. We live in Florida but travel quite a bit to New York for holidays. I love visiting New York. Change of weather, change of scenery. Unfortunately, change of husband.
My husband and I don’t argue a lot. Regular stuff like everyone else. Yet I know that when we go visit his parents in New York we will have an argument. Don’t misunderstand, I love his family, his parents are wonderful … Continue Reading »

I am scared of girls. I think girls can be very mean. I have gone to volunteer in my daughter’s 2nd grade class, heard a girl say something nasty, and then I started singing a few verses of Taylor Swift’s “Why you gotta be so mean?” I have not been asked back to help out in the class.
I am not going to say, “in my day the girls were nice and gum costs a nickel.” But as a mother of a daughter, … Continue Reading »

I am constantly questioning my ability to make parental decisions, still get in trouble by my own parents, and enjoy my kids’ television shows too much. I mean, when you look up from the TV, and realize you are alone watching Victorious, it’s time to grow up.
I think the hardest thing about coming to terms with aging is the disconnect with my real age and my psychological age. Real age, standing on the cliff of 40, psychological age, twenty-two.
So imagine my surprise when someone pointed out … Continue Reading »

Now things can get pretty slow in the suburbs. Sometimes, you have to find interesting ways to amuse yourself. So my friend Amy and I like to play, “Damn, that mom is f@#!#n crazy! It is really quite easy and I am looking into developing this pastime into a fun board game.
The rules are as follows, you walk around town, maybe your kids’ school, or at a party, or at the sports fields. You see a crazy mom and add her to your list. The person who gets … Continue Reading »

Hopefully by now you are getting to know me a bit better. Maybe you have been able to tell that I like to view life’s challenges in simpler ways and can find great help in comparing everyday life issues with fashion issues.
Like the way I met my husband, Scott. He fit me perfectly. When I met him, it was like finding the most perfect pair of vintage Levis. They were comfortable, made me feel good, and I didn’t think anyone else would find a pair like them.
So … Continue Reading »

I think there should be a test before you get married to see if you and your guy are compatible when it comes to money issues. Right before they issue you a marriage license, you have to pass this test. “Sorry, you guys got a 70%, it doesn’t look good for you, move on and meet someone else.”
I told you in my Science of Sex … Continue Reading »

So sad. My spring vacation came and went. It seems like as soon as you come back from vacation, you are two days back into the swing of things and you forget how relaxed you were.
Whenever I go skiing, I love watching all the young kids working the lifts. They are so frickin happy. They are smiling, not a … Continue Reading »
I created this blog as a virtual girls night out. Some of my favorite times are with my girlfriends, sitting around laughing and sharing. Making fun of each other, ourselves, our lives.

I am away with my family this week. We are in Colorado skiing and it has been great. Well, the only thing that hasn’t been great is my major gas problem in this altitude. I must have 5000 pounds of gas just sitting in my stomach. My solution is to just keep eating as if this will somehow fight off the gas. This isn’t working and one very nice waitress asked me when I am due.
So aside from my freakishly huge distended stomach, I love being away in the … Continue Reading »

I like to be liked. I like when people like what I have to say. So it pains me a little to write this article.
But what is so wrong with Kim Kardashian? A lot has been written in the past week about the big brouhaha between Jon Hamm and Kim K. His interview in Elle UK http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2112783/Mad-Mens-Jon-Hamm-hits-cult-celebrity.html got a lot of attention. He believes that Kim Kardashian and a few other celebrities contribute to idiot culture and that stupidity is celebrated.
Now I am a thirty-nine year old mother … Continue Reading »
