As you know, I love vacations. Hate the packing, always forget a toothbrush, my razor, and my favorite tank. So I look uncute and stubbly. I digress. I usually like going away with just my family. I have never been into group trips. I am always scared of the other families’ dynamics. Would they match with mine? Would their vacation rules mesh with ours?
I have also heard horror stories about good friends going away together, then coming back enemies.
But this Labor Day weekend … Continue Reading »

It’s happened sooner than I expected. I mean, I know it’s coming by December, and not ending until around April, but I was a little surprised for it now. Thank goodness I am always prepared. Scott came home today with the well known, “I am not feeling that great, I think I have a cold, “I am going to lay down.”
Now I hope by now you know by now that I am not a cold bitch, but I can’t express to you enough … Continue Reading »

Dear Jen,
First let me just say that no one is happier than me that you are engaged. I have struggled with you through the years. I was cheering for you and Vince Vaughn, and I have even gone so low as to say, “I don’t think Brad’s kids are that cute!” So I am really vested in this engagement and really want you and Justin to work out. I thought about getting you a great salad bowl from William Sonoma, but I felt my marital advice … Continue Reading »

Last week I had school orientation for all of my kids, Seventh, fifth, and third. It’s always a nerve-wracking couple of days. Will they like their teachers? Will they have friends in their classes?
But no matter those answers, there are constants every year. They will have some mean kids in the class, there will be those kids who are so shy your heart drops for them and I end up thinking about how their first day will … Continue Reading »

When your kids have been away all summer, sometimes the parent may fantasize about them. Like, I wish they were here. We have so much fun together! I can’t wait for the activity and noise again. Then they come home, and at dinner, her oldest says, “When I have kids, I am not going to spoil them like you guys have spoiled me.” I would have more character if I weren’t spoiled.”
Now if you have read any of my previous … Continue Reading »
I love going out with other couples for a good night out. We eat, we drink, we share stories. Here’s a doozy from the other night. My initial shock was tempered by the lesson I learned upon mulling their story over the next day.
Forgive me, some of the details of my friends’ story might be a little fuzzy because I stuck my fingers in my ears and was screaming, “La la la, I can’t hear you.”
My friends were visiting … Continue Reading »

As promised, I have a few recommended items that might make your medicine cabinet a more lean mean fighting machine. Your makeup counter, organized and beautiful.
My problem, as you can gather from yesterday’s post, Is There A Quick Fix?, is that I am constantly trying a new product, a new lipstick, a new blush.
I guess because I have committed to one man for the rest of my life, I need … Continue Reading »
I have had a hard time sleeping. Waking up at about 4am every morning. I quietly go into my son Jack’s empty room and turn on the TV. And let me tell you, there is a wealth of information on TV at that time.
Did you know that Cindy Crawford is part of an incredible discovery of a magic melon that will stop aging?
Jane Seymour still has long hair, and too has discovered the secret to perfect skin. I found out … Continue Reading »
Now even though I live in Florida, and the only seasons we have are Hot and Not So Hot, I still enjoy the idea that everyone is supposed to shop a few things for Fall. I am realistic about my lifestyle, stick to purchasing mostly staples, and try to stay away from too many trends. If I do go trendy, I will usually buy those items in Forever 21. It’s a great store, they are always on trend, and I don’t have to spend a lot of money on items I know I won’t wear next year, like a peplum … Continue Reading »
Not really a post today. Just funny. Well, I think it’s funny. So as you know, kids are at camp. It has been so long that I am starting to feel a little bad about it. We are entering our last week. One more week of pictures, one more week of running to the mailbox. One more week of napping at 4:45 in the afternoon cause I can. I am actually forcing myself to nap, because once my kids get home I don’t want … Continue Reading »
